Kathy Bellios- Tap Instructor (Tap Co. competition teams & OPEN Tap classes)
Kathy began her dancing career at the age of 5, though her Mom claims she came out dancing, and has been dancing ever since! Born and raised in Columbia, South Carolina Kathy grew up training and competing in jazz, tap, hip hop, clogging, and lyrical/ comtemporary with Suzanne’s School of Dance and the Xtreme Dance Force now known as Xtreme Dance Cheer and Tumble. During her competition years she won numerous awards including outstanding performer and onstage personality, as well as numerous regional and national awards with her team. Kathy and her team also had the pleasure of performing at Disney World, Carowinds, and on Carnival Cruise Lines. Kathy still goes home to learn, teach and just visit the place she has called her 2nd home for so long.
Kathy started teaching in high school and realized that her love of dance wasn’t just to perform but to also share it with others. Even after high school Kathy continued to teach and instruct the Mini, Junior, and Senior Companies. Seeing their hard work and dedication not only inspired Kathy but let her know that teaching others to dance was her true passion.
Today, with a degree in Psychology and minor in Education from the University of South Carolina, Kathy works for the YMCA of Coastal Georgia but still loves to share her love of dance with others. Dancing is truly her passion and being able to share and teach that passion to others is definitely her dream come true.
